A brass-coloured jet (gas nozzle) for built-in gas hobs, with 55 stamped on the hex. It is sold for all hob brands.
Each burner on a hob has its own jet underneath. The jet's tiny hole lets a set amount of gas through, and the stamped number stands for the size of that hole.
Change it when the hole is damaged and the flame stays small, or as part of converting the hob between LPG and piped natural gas.
