It is made of food-grade nitrile rubber. Replace it when steam escapes around the lid, or the ring has gone hard, cracked or loose.
Check before you order: Prestige also lists a 3 litre Clip-On under its 22 cm gasket (60676), so go by the lid size, not the litres. This ring is for the 18 cm lid.
