Panasonic's thermal fuse unit for Panasonic rice cookers. As in the photo, the fuse is inside a white woven sleeve, with a black lead and a blue lead, each ending in a ring terminal.
The thermal fuse is a safety cut-out: if the cooker overheats, the fuse blows and cuts the power for good. A cooker that is completely dead, with a working socket and cord, may have a blown thermal fuse. Find out why it blew, for example a faulty thermostat, before you fit a new one.
Check before you order: compare the leads and terminals with your old fuse unit. Panasonic has not published which models use it.
