The centre magnet (magnetic thermostat) for electric rice cookers: the round, spring-loaded metal cup in the middle of the heating plate that touches the bottom of the pot. It comes in a Rolex box, as in the photo.
When you press the Cook lever, the magnet holds it down. When the water is absorbed and the bottom of the pot gets hotter, the magnet lets go and the cooker switches to Warm. Replace it when the lever will not stay down, the cooker switches to Warm before the rice is done, or it does not switch at all.
