The range splits into two service profiles that matter more than the model name: baffle-filter units, which need the filters removed and degreased, and filterless auto-clean units, where the oil collector and the heated auto-clean cycle do the work instead.
On the auto-clean models, the fault we are called out for most is not the motor — it is the auto-clean cycle no longer clearing residue properly. That usually traces back to the oil collector cup being left unemptied long enough that residue backs up, or to scale on the heating plate from hard water. Both are serviceable. Neither needs a new chimney.
On the baffle-filter models, the filters themselves are the consumable. Aluminium baffles saturate and eventually deform, and once deformed they seat badly and let unfiltered air past into the blower housing. If yours have been run for years without replacement, expect the technician to recommend new baffles alongside the service rather than just degreasing the old ones.
