A compatible gas valve (gas cock) with an ignition switch, sold as Type C for built-in hobs of all brands.
The photos show a cast body and a brass-coloured spindle with a flat and a black washer. A black switch with two spade terminals triggers the spark when the knob is pressed. The inlet flange has two ears and a red seal, and the outlet is threaded.
Replace it when the valve is stiff, the flame will not turn down or off, or pressing the knob no longer sparks.
Check before you order: our Type D also has a switch but a square body. Book a hob repair and our technician will fit and leak-test it.
