It sits under the burner, and gas passes through the fine hole in its tip. The stamped number marks that hole's size, so a 65 jet is not a swap for a 55 or a 45.
Replace the jet if its hole is damaged and the flame stays small. Jets are also changed when a hob is converted between LPG and piped gas.
