Hawkins' pressure regulator VW05, the whistle with the black band, for Hawkins cookers of version 2005 and 2013 from 1.5 to 12 litre. Hawkins lists it for the Classic, Contura, Contura Black, Contura Black XT, Hevibase and Ventura. As the box says, it is not for Hawkins Stainless Steel or Bigboy cookers.
The regulator rests on the vent tube and holds the cooker at its working pressure, lifting to release steam. Change it if the cooker no longer whistles, whistles very late, leaks steam all the time, or the regulator is dented or missing.
Check before you order: 1975 and 1995 cookers, and all stainless steel and Bigboy cookers, use the VW75 vent weight with a red band. When a cooker does not whistle, switch off the flame and wait until it is fully cool before you open it.
