Panasonic's centre thermostat for Panasonic Y series rice cookers, listed by our supplier as Center Thermostat - Y Series. As in the photos, it is a round metal sensor cap with a spring around it and two tab terminals underneath.
It sits in the middle of the heating plate, and the spring keeps it pressed against the bottom of the pan. It senses the heat of the pan so the cooker can end cooking. Replace it when the rice burns at the bottom, stays undercooked, or the cooker will not switch to warm. The switch lever or the heater can cause similar faults, so have it tested.
