This is the cutting unit that mounts at the base of the jar and does all the grinding work. The 1.5 litre jar is the wet grinding jar — idli and dosa batter, coconut chutney, gravies, purées, juices, shakes and large-quantity masalas. It handles the heaviest and wettest loads on the machine, which is why its blade wears out first. Supplied as a full assembly: blade unit, shaft, dome housing, bearing and sealing gasket.
