Butterfly's Senior 'U' gasket: the black nitrile rubber sealing ring for Butterfly Blueline stainless steel cookers of 7.5 litre (low dome), 10 and 12 litres, and for the 4.5 litre senior pressure pan. The pack says Senior 'U' and food-grade nitrile rubber.
The ring seats in the lid rim and keeps steam in while the cooker builds pressure. Change it when steam escapes under the lid, the whistle comes much later than it used to, or the rubber has gone hard, cracked or stretched.
Check before you order: the 3.5, 4.5 and 5 litre Blueline take the Junior 'U', and the 2 and 3 litre the Sub Junior 'U'. Butterfly also makes the Senior 'U' in green silicone. Big aluminium Standard cookers take the Senior 'R'.
