Bergner's resettable safety valve for the Argent Classic tri-ply outer lid cookers. The Bergner pack says it fits all sizes, and Bergner sells the Argent Classic cookers with a resettable safety valve.
It is a safety device on the lid that lets steam out if the pressure rises too high. Bergner describes it as resettable, so it can be set back after it has released instead of being thrown away. Replace it when it leaks steam all the time, will not reset, or is damaged.
Check before you order: as in the photo, it comes as a threaded valve body, a steel nut and a flat washer. If the valve releases steam while you cook, turn off the flame and let the cooker cool fully before you open it.
