Preethi's gasket (sealing ring) for its smaller stainless steel and triply pressure cookers and pressure pans. The capacity box on the Preethi pack reads 1.5/2L and 2.5/3L. The pack says it suits Preethi stainless steel and triply pressure cookers and pressure pans, and calls it a food grade rubber gasket.
It seals the lid so the cooker can build pressure. Change it when steam escapes around the lid, the whistle is slow to come, or the rubber is hard or cracked.
Check before you order: Preethi's 4.5 and 5 litre steel and triply cookers take a bigger gasket. Aluminium and hard anodised cookers take their own gaskets.
