Preethi's gasket (sealing ring) for its larger stainless steel and triply pressure cookers. The capacity box on the Preethi pack reads 3L SS Pan and 4.5L/5L. The pack says it suits Preethi stainless steel and triply pressure cookers and pressure pans, and calls it a food grade rubber gasket.
It seals the lid to the body so the cooker can reach pressure. Replace it if steam leaks at the rim or the whistle takes longer than it used to. A hard, cracked or stretched ring should go too.
Check before you order: Preethi's 1.5 to 3 litre steel and triply cookers take a smaller gasket. Aluminium and hard anodised cookers take their own gaskets.
