Ultra's fusible plug, the safety valve on the lid of Ultra pressure cookers. Ultra lists it as suitable for all its cooker models, and sellers name the Duracook, Diet cooker, Endura+, Endura+ Handi and Ebony.
It is a second safety device next to the whistle. If the vent gets blocked and the cooker overheats, the plug gives way and lets the steam out. Replace it if it has blown or melted, is damaged, or steam leaks around it. Do not use the cooker until it is replaced.
It is a small hexagonal metal plug with a hole in the centre, as in the photo. Fit it only with the cooker cold and empty.
