An adjustable capillary thermostat for geysers, with a pink and cream body. As in the photo, it has a flat spindle on top for a temperature knob, a tab terminal, and a copper capillary tube in a black sleeve that ends in a long copper bulb.
The bulb sits in the geyser's sensor pocket, and the switch cuts the heating coil when the water reaches the temperature set on the knob. Replace it when the geyser stays cold, overheats or does not cut off, or the knob no longer changes the temperature. A burnt coil can cause similar signs, so have it tested first.
