A long magnesium anode rod for storage geysers. As in the photos, it is a plain grey metal rod with a threaded stud at one end.
Inside the tank, the anode corrodes in place of the tank itself, so the tank lasts longer. It wears away over time, faster with hard water. Replace it when the old rod is thin, pitted or mostly eaten away. Our technician can check it while descaling the geyser or changing the heating coil.
