Hawkins' body handle (code BH13) for Hawkins pressure cookers of version 2013, from 1.5 to 12 litre, including the Hawkins Stainless Steel. Hawkins lists it for the Classic, Contura, Contura Black, Contura Black XT, Hevibase (Ekobase) and Stainless Steel.
It is the long handle on the cooker body, and it comes as two halves with studs and screws. Replace it when it is cracked, burnt or chipped, or stays loose after tightening.
Check before you order: the version matters. Cookers of version 1995 and 2005 take the BH95 handle, and 1975 cookers the BH75. To fit it, Hawkins places the two halves on either side of the metal bracket, pushes in the studs and tightens the screws from the other side.
A cracked handle on a hot vessel is a burn waiting to happen. Handles are bolted on, so a swap takes minutes and restores full use.
