Ultra's pressure regulator: the whistle that sits on the vent tube of the cooker lid. Ultra lists it as suitable for all its pressure cooker models, including the Endura+, Endura+ Handi and Ebony.
When the cooker reaches its working pressure, the regulator lifts and lets steam out: that is the whistle. Replace it when the whistle does not come or comes very late, steam escapes all the time, or the regulator is damaged or lost.
It has a steel weight with an orange knob, as in the photo. If a cooker keeps heating without whistling, turn off the flame, let it cool fully, and do not force the lid open.
