This is the short shaft that carries the blade at the base of the small chutney jar and takes drive up from the coupler. The chutney jar runs at high speed on small quantities — coconut chutney, ginger-garlic paste, masalas, coffee and dry spices — so the shaft sees constant high-RPM load in a wet, acidic environment. Over time it wears at the bearing seat, corrodes, or bends slightly, and once it does, nothing above it runs true. Replace the shaft when the blade wobbles or vibrates during grinding, when the jar rattles or has become noticeably louder, when the shaft is visibly bent, scored, pitted or rusted, when the threads or flats have rounded off and no longer hold the blade square, or when the shaft feels rough, notchy or seized turned by hand. Corrosion-resistant construction rated for wet kitchen use — no pitting or staining from acidic ingredients or repeated washing. Precision-machined to the original 40 mm length, diameter and thread specification so the blade seats flush and spins true with no play. Correct concentricity keeps vibration down, which protects the bearing, gasket seal and coupler from further wear.
