Hawkins' Intermediate Gasket (code IG), the sealing ring for large Hawkins pressure cookers. The pack says it fits Hawkins cookers from 8 litre wide body to 14 litre: the Classic 8 litre Wide, 10 litre and 12 litre, the Hevibase 8 litre and the Bigboy 14 litre.
Replace it when steam escapes around the lid, the cooker is slow to reach pressure, or the ring is hard, cracked or no longer grips the lid.
Check before you order: the ring itself is marked IG 8L-14L. A Classic 8 litre Tall takes the Standard Gasket (SG). Hawkins Stainless Steel 8 and 10 litre cookers, and the Bigboy 18 and 22 litre, each take a different gasket.
